The guide

Every room in the studio, what comes out of it, what a press costs, and the words you will meet. Prices here are read off the same table the buttons use, so what this page says is what the app does today.

The rooms

Make a song

Make a song from nothing, in one box around the copilot. Easy: say what you want in a few words and it writes the song. Extensive: write it verse by verse. The plus starts you from a feeling, a style or a song of your own; the buttons along the box set the length, the feel and the voice. The words come out under the box, and Make the song is under those.

  • A two-minute song8 credits
  • A one-minute half song7 credits
  • A style word6 credits

Studio

Edit a song that already exists: its sections, its arrangement, its timing. Read its chords, key and tempo, and split it into named parts.

  • Reading the chords, key and tempo, per minute8 credits
  • Splitting a song into named parts8 credits

ProBooth

Sing on your own track. Record takes over the backing with the words on the screen, lay them out as lanes, clean the room noise off, split the stems, and mix it on a desk. Amps from the catalogue go on any lane.

  • Cleaning the room off a take, per minute8 credits
  • Splitting the stems, per minute8 credits
  • Singing a lane in another voice, per minute8 credits
  • Bouncing the mix out3 credits

Your voice

Clone your voice once, with your consent recorded, and then read anything in it: a script, an advert line, a podcast intro. Change a recording into your voice too.

  • Cloning your voice, once20 credits
  • A short reading (300 characters)2 credits
  • Changing a recording into your voice, per minute8 credits

Sound trainer

Train a sound of your own from songs you have already made, so the next ones come out sounding like you.

  • Training a sound of your own180 credits

Video desk

The video desk: marketing, podcast and social clips built scene by scene, with a picture as the start frame, a song under it and your logo on it. Simple writes the shot for you; Everything opens the whole desk.

  • A video clip from the engine18 credits
  • A still picture changed by saying what to change6 credits

Video Editor

The cutting room: your own footage on a clock, trimmed, split, reordered and faded, with words on the picture, one look across every shot, and a song underneath. It all runs on your phone; nothing is uploaded.

  • Putting the film together, per half minute10 credits
  • One look over the whole film6 credits
  • Words set on the picture3 credits
  • A join between two shots3 credits
  • A song laid under the film3 credits
  • Your mark on the film15 credits

Photo Editor

The photo editor: one still, made for social media. Bring a picture in, choose the frame, take the background out, grab the words off a poster, set your own words on it, and take it off the device in the quality you choose.

  • Taking the finished picture off the device5 credits
  • A 15-second hook3 credits
  • A 30-second hook6 credits
  • The background taken out, per five seconds of work4 credits
  • An item taken out, per five seconds of work5 credits
  • Grabbing the words out of a picture15 credits

Hooks

Short vertical clips: the fifteen seconds that make somebody stop scrolling, cut from a video you already have.

Everything in this room runs on your own phone and uses no credits.

Channel

Your channel: your released music in the order you want people to hear it, with every video made anywhere in the studio beside it.

Everything in this room runs on your own phone and uses no credits.

Live

The live room: one channel, everybody in it at the same time, listening to what people put in.

Everything in this room runs on your own phone and uses no credits.

Collab Radar

Find another maker and work together: the radar that matches you by key and tempo, the ask, and the room you share.

Everything in this room runs on your own phone and uses no credits.

Podcast

A show with its own feed: episodes, hosts, a presenter from your cast, a transcript, and a dub into other languages.

  • Transcribing, per minute4 credits
  • Dubbing into another language, per minute110 credits

Adverts

Adverts: a brief in, and a set of adverts out. The line, the words under it, the button, the line to say aloud, a poster, and a plan for the week.

  • Eight advert lines40 credits
  • A marketing plan for the week15 credits
  • A poster or cover drawn by the engine15 credits

Album art

Album art by real artists: a wall of one-off pieces, each sold exactly once, and a way to commission one.

Real artists sell real pieces here, in rand rather than credits, each one exactly once.

The kids room

A room of its own for a child, opened from the welcome page and not from inside the studio. A grown-up buys kids credits there (Kids Try R59, Kids Monthly R119, Kids Plus R229) or sets an allowance from their own credits, sets how long the sitting lasts, and hands the phone over. Six doors inside: music, videos and stories, drawing, games, editing and quizzes. No shop, no chat, no strangers, nothing shared. When the credits or the time run out the room closes and asks for a grown-up. A monthly pack is stopped from the parents page.

Every press that spends says its price on the button before you press it. A press that fails is not charged, and the screen says so where it happens.

The words

Credits
What the studio runs on. A plan gives you a number every month, and every press that spends says how many before you press it. Anything that runs on your own phone uses none.
Simple and Everything
The switch at the top of the video desk. Simple is the copilot and one button. Everything opens every card. Nothing is switched off by Simple; what you set stays set.
Lane
One recording in the ProBooth, with its own level, its own place in time and its own mute. The song is the first lane; every take you record is another.
Take
One recording of you singing over the backing. Keep it and it becomes a lane; record again and you have another to choose from.
Bounce
Rendering every lane, level and effect into one finished file. The same mix is charged once, however many times you save it unchanged.
Stems
A song taken apart into its voice and its music, so each can be used on its own.
Voice clone
A copy of your voice the studio can read with. Only you can use yours, and your consent is stored with it. Deleting your account deletes it from the voice service too.
Amp capture
A measurement of a real amplifier or pedal, in the file every Neural Amp Modeler plugin reads. Put one on a lane and the recording goes through it. The catalogue names the person who made each one.
Cast
Faces you upload once and use in every video: the presenter in a podcast, the person in a clip.
Start frame
A picture the video engine starts from. It fixes the subject, the palette and the frame, so the shot only has to say what moves.
Hook
The fifteen seconds of a song or video that make somebody stop scrolling, cut out as a short vertical clip.
Brief
What you tell the advert desk before it writes anything: who it is for, what you sell, what you want them to do.
Channel
Your own page of what you have released, in the order you want it heard, with a link you can give anybody.
Cubed
The masterclass: three classes for people who want to learn the craft behind the rooms, not only press the buttons.
